Paychex's Laurie Zaucha to Speak on Occupational Trends, Wellness at HR Technology Conference

October 02, 2014

Laurie Zaucha, Paychex vice president for human resources and organizational development, will participate in a pair of speaking engagements, reflecting on occupational trends and wellness, at Human Resource Executive’s HR Technology Conference and Exposition at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev., October 7 – 10. Paychex, Inc. is one of the nation’s leading providers of payroll, human resource, insurance, and benefits outsourcing solutions for small- to medium-sized businesses.

Zaucha is one of four chief human resource officers participating on the panel, “The Modern CHRO: A Conversation with Today’s HR and Business Leaders,” focusing on ways HR executives can stay on top of trends and breed success in today’s fluid landscape. The modern executive must be tech and socially savvy, plus be able to master analytics to make sense of big data. They must do all of this while remaining an expert on how best to find, attract, develop, deploy, and reward the people who make their business run. The panel will address the importance of fostering and supporting women’s careers in technology, and how organizations can help in leading the initiative, as well.

Zaucha will also co-present with Dr. Rajiv Kumar, founder and CEO of ShapeUp, for the session, “Paychex Powers Employee Wellness Using Social, Mobile, and Gaming Technology,” which will concentrate on where health and wellness fit in the workplace. Employee wellness has long been a priority in the Paychex culture and as a part of this discussion, Zaucha will speak to how executives can empower and encourage employees to improve their health, while also strengthening employee engagement, using a social wellness platform.

Zaucha has more than 20 years of experience as a human resources executive. In her current role, she is responsible for all aspects of Paychex’s human resources and organizational development, as well as the company’s training department.

Dr. Kumar is the founder and chief executive officer of Providence-based wellness company ShapeUp. Through this rapidly growing, venture capital-backed startup, Dr. Kumar has been able to scale and deliver his social networking and gaming-based behavior change model for wellness to workplaces worldwide.
