Dave Wilson

Dave Wilson is managing director of engineering and technology at Paychex and a member of the Executive Committee. He is responsible for the technology strategy and execution that enables the company's growth, operational performance, customer experience, and long-term competitiveness. Wilson leads the teams and capabilities that develop, operate, secure, and modernize the technology foundation that powers Paychex’s HCM platforms.

With more than 20 years of technology leadership experience, Wilson has built and led large-scale technology organizations responsible for enterprise platforms, software delivery, cybersecurity, technology operations, and business-critical services. He has a proven track record of modernizing technology environments, improving engineering effectiveness, strengthening resilience, and enabling organizations to scale while maintaining a strong focus on reliability, security, and execution.

Throughout his career, Wilson has focused on translating technology innovation into measurable business value. His leadership has helped accelerate software delivery, improve operational agility, advance enterprise-scale platforms, and expand the application of artificial intelligence across the business. By combining disciplined execution with a practical approach to emerging technologies, he helps drive capabilities that support customers, employees, and long-term business growth.

Prior to joining Paychex, Wilson served as director of infrastructure and operations at Frontier Communications and held technology leadership roles at PAETEC. He earned a bachelor's degree in information technology from Rochester Institute of Technology and has been recognized with multiple industry honors, including Rochester Business Journal's 40 Under 40, TechRochester Technology Leader of the Year, and Workforce Magazine's Game Changer award.
