Rochester, N.Y. (March 18, 2026) – Paychex, Inc. (Nasdaq: PAYX), an industry-leading human capital management (HCM) company, has again been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices. This is the 18th time and 15th consecutive year Paychex has been honored since the annual program began in 2007.

Ethisphere recognizes a select group of companies each year for their exceptional commitment to ethical operations, compliance performance, and governance practices. In 2026, 138 companies were recognized spanning 17 countries and 40 industries.

“Receiving the designation as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies is a testament to our unwavering commitment to integrity and corporate responsibility—both integral to the Paychex culture,” said John Gibson, Paychex president and CEO. “Since its founding in 1971, Paychex has operated with the purpose of helping businesses succeed and a strong commitment to the local communities it serves.”

In addition to the recognition by Ethisphere, the company’s charitable giving efforts resulted in being named one of United Way’s 2025 Leading Corporate Partners.

“Our goal has always been simple: do the right thing, the right way,” said Prabha Sipi Bhandari, Paychex chief legal officer, chief ethics officer, and secretary. “Our dedication to ethical principles applies to all that we do when delivering on our purpose of helping businesses succeed and investing in our communities. Receiving this prestigious recognition from Ethisphere for the 18th time is an honor and a testament to our steadfast commitment to operating with integrity.”

“Congratulations to Paychex for achieving recognition as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies®. As we mark the 20th class of honorees, this group continues to raise the bar for business integrity by embedding ethics into everyday decision-making and long-term strategy. Companies with strong ethics, compliance, and governance programs are built for better long-term performance,” said Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere’s chief strategy officer and executive chair.

Methodology & Scoring
The World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment is grounded in Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient®, which requires companies to provide 240+ documented proof points on practices that support robust ethics and compliance, including: corporate governance; program structure & resourcing; written standards; training, awareness, & communication; risk assessment & auditing; investigations, enforcement, discipline & incentives; measurement of ethical culture; third-party risk management, and environmental & social impact. That data undergoes further qualitative analysis by our panel of experts who spend thousands of hours vetting and evaluating each year’s group of applicants. This process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify best-in-class ethics and compliance practices from organizations across industries and from around the world.
