Gotham Podcast Studio – New York, N.Y.

Gotham Podcast Studio is the first recording studio in New York City dedicated exclusively to podcasts. Podcasts are digital audio files made available online that listeners can download to a computer or mobile device. Podcasts are often serialized, and subscribers can automatically receive new episodes.

Gotham Podcast Studio’s owners Matt and Brianna Peters help aspiring podcasters launch their shows by providing studio time, training, marketing support, and recording assistance. They also guide existing shows in improving audio quality, and in reaching larger audiences by joining a podcast network that hosts, distributes, and promotes its podcasts. By focusing solely on podcasts, Gotham avoids the overhead other studios carry for music, voice-over, and additional recording services. The company offers "full-service, turnkey podcasting for a low hourly rate." That's a competitive edge in a notoriously expensive city.

The studio entices those who want to find an audience for their audio files: "We assist with new shows to help navigate starting a podcast, and existing shows … high-quality equipment in a soundproof studio will instantly communicate to your listeners that you are taking this seriously." The company also touts video streaming and video recording possibilities, "so maybe turn a hobby into an income stream."

Using marketing smarts, Gotham offers monthly promotions on social media. For example, any show that signed with the company in November got to record in the rest of the month free of charge.

Matt Peters has an extensive background as a podcast host, and has produced many shows, as well. Brianna handles the back of the house and most of the company's business workings. The couple took the next step for the studio by partnering with Christopher Media Network to provide a superior facility for clients to create and distribute podcasts.
