Q: I clicked on an email and now I believe it may not be legitimate. What should I do?

A: If you opened and clicked on a link in the email, your computer may be infected. Contact your information technology support team as soon as possible.

Q: I am not sure if an email is a legitimate Paychex communication. What should I do?

A: If you cannot confirm an email sender, do not open it or click on any links. You should delete the email and contact your Paychex branch representative immediately.

Q: How secure is my personal information using your online services?

A: The privacy and security of client data is of the highest importance to us and we consider it key to maintaining our clients' trust. Our employees are trained to keep your personal information confidential. We employ industry-recognized security safeguards to help protect your personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration.

Q: Does Paychex sell or share its customer lists?

A: Paychex does not rent, sell, or share clients' personal information with anyone outside of Paychex for promotional use.

Q: I opted out of marketing contacts from Paychex. Why am I still getting emails?

A: Paychex respects your desire to not be contacted. Your choice to opt out only applies to promotional materials and not critical service notifications that pertain to your account with us. We take care to limit these notices only to clients affected by the issue. Also, please note that if you have more than one email address, you can opt out of one and not the other(s).

Q: Why do you require me to provide my information when I go to opt out?

A: Paychex places the highest value on customer privacy. To verify that we are correctly honoring your contact preferences, we must verify your contact information to accurately match and update the appropriate customer account in our database. After locating and updating your record, we will flag it so that it will not be included in future marketing lists, per your request.

Q: What does it mean if I agree to receive SMS/text messages and prerecorded calls from Paychex?

A: By providing your mobile telephone number and clicking on “Submit" or "I Agree,” you agree that Paychex can contact you with product information and promotional offers via SMS/text message, or automated or prerecorded calls. You understand that you are not required to agree as a condition of making any purchase from Paychex, and that you may withdraw your consent at any time. You also agree that you are the subscriber or customary user of the telephone number you provided.
