Recognized by National Business Group on Health for Offering One of the Nation’s Best Workforce Health and Well-being Programs

For the seventh time, Paychex, Inc. has been honored by the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) for having one of the best workforce health and well-being programs in the nation. Paychex, a leading provider of integrated human capital management solutions for payroll, HR, retirement, and insurance services, received Platinum-level recognition for its commitment to improving employee health and productivity while demonstrating results across the dimensions of well-being.

Paychex is among 48 U.S. employers that received the 2017 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award, presented at the National Business Group on Health’s Workforce Strategy 2017 Conference. This is the first time Paychex has achieved a Platinum Award, which represents the top tier of all applicants.

“Wellness is a big part of our workplace culture,” said Laurie Zaucha, Paychex vice president of human resources and organizational development. “At locations around the country, you’ll find employees using sit-stand workstations, taking walk breaks on walking paths or around the parking lot, and participating in team-based wellness challenges that take place throughout the year. Achieving platinum-level recognition reflects our commitment to helping our employees live healthy lives, and reinforces our belief that healthy employees are more engaged, more resilient, and better able to tackle the demands of their daily work.”

Paychex has long recognized the benefits of workplace wellness. Over the past two decades, its wellness program has evolved into one that helps employees make health a priority while addressing the environmental and cultural factors that influence all dimensions of well-being, including social connectedness, financial fitness, and community engagement. The program includes multi-week team wellness challenges; best-in-class tobacco cessation; healthy food in company cafeterias and vending machines; partnership with community-supported agriculture; blood pressure kiosks; ergonomics; treadmill workstations; financial well-being; monthly fresh fruit deliveries to offices most engaged in wellness; flu shots; health coaching; voluntary on-site screenings; and measurable outcomes around health risk, workforce engagement, productivity, and satisfaction. Recent additions include a healthy eating cookbook with employee-submitted recipes and an evidence-based program to help employees’ children lead healthier lives.

Brian Marcotte, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health, commended, “We are delighted to recognize Paychex for their innovative approach to employee, family, and community health and well-being. Paychex is among an elite group of employers who are embracing well-being as an important part of their workforce strategy and working to construct a culture that promotes productivity, engagement, and happiness. We congratulate Paychex and their leaders.”
