SCORE & Paychex Partner to Help Small Businesses Grow and Succeed

SCORE – www.score.org – mentors to America’s small businesses, is pleased to announce a renewed partnership with Paychex, a recognized leader in the payroll, human resource, insurance, and benefits outsourcing industry. Through this partnership, SCORE and Paychex will assist small business owners in learning about the payroll and HR mistakes that may cost small businesses money. Both SCORE and Paychex strive to inform entrepreneurs about the changing regulations, penalties, and legislation in small business, and are dedicated to equipping small business owners with the tools necessary for their success.

SCORE and Paychex will kick off the renewal of their partnership with a webinar on human resources. The webinar, “Hiring the Right Employee,” (http://www.score.org/workshops/live-webinar-522-hiring-right-employee) will be held on Thursday, May 22 at 1pm EST. Participants will gain insight into the human resource practices that will help them to recruit and retain the best and brightest in today’s competitive marketplace. Participants will learn about writing a job description, critically reviewing a resume, compliant interviewing procedures, and more. The planned series of webinars from SCORE and Paychex will provide information, tools, and guidance that entrepreneurs can use to adapt to the changing small business environment.

In celebration of Human Resources Month in May, Paychex HR professionals will be featured guest bloggers on SCORE’s Small Business Success Blog (http://blog.score.org/), providing insight into timely HR topics, such as workforce training, employee benefits, delegating effectively, and building an HR foundation.

Tracy Volkmann began working at Paychex in July 2014 and currently serves as the public relations program manager. In this role, she is responsible for research PR efforts, as well as all publicity for the company's technology solution, Paychex Flex, and supporting overall goals of the public relations department. Tracy is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and has a background in collegiate athletic communications, having spent seven years at West Point.
