Given the significant impact that COVID-19 has had on many businesses, it’s no wonder employers may be interested in mandating or encouraging employees to receive COVID-19 vaccinations when they become widely available.

In fact, according to a recent Paychex snap poll, most business leaders see themselves as having a role in employee vaccination: 75% of small businesses (10-49 employees) and 85% of medium-sized businesses (50-500 employees) plan to motivate their employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

With the rollout of the vaccine and a second round of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds now available, Paychex recently polled 300* randomly selected U.S. small and medium-size business owners for insights on their 2021 business outlook, as well as:

  • Round two PPP applications status;
  • Overall concerns and sentiment regarding the vaccine rollout;
  • If, and how, employers are encouraging vaccination among their employees; and
  • The vaccine’s impact on returning to business as “usual.”
