Paychex Captures Gold Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Award for Paychex Flex®

December 18, 2017

Brandon Hall Group has announced that Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of integrated human capital management solutions for payroll, HR, retirement, and insurance services, won a gold-medal award for Excellence in Technology, recognizing Paychex Flex® for the “Best Advance in HR or Workforce Management Technology for Small and Medium-sized Businesses” in 2017.

Paychex Flex, which was honored with a bronze medal in the same category in 2016, is a cloud-based human capital management (HCM) solution that manages important HR tasks for employers so they can focus on what truly matters – building and running their businesses. Built around a fusion of data, technology, and service, the platform helps clients reduce administrative time, control labor costs, improve business performance, and manage compliance with changing regulations.

“Human capital management is evolving faster than at any time in its history, and it is powered by innovative technology developed and implemented by organizations big and small,” said Rachel Cooke, chief operating officer of Brandon Hall Group and head of the awards program. “The technology innovators who won Excellence Awards this year were focused on providing users with a better overall experience. That is what our research says employers want, and our award winners are leading the way.”

“Our technology award winners are truly outstanding and set a high bar for others,” added Mike Cooke, Brandon Hall Group CEO. “We have learned a great deal from what they have accomplished. The awards programs supplement our quantitative research in providing our team with unique insights to share with our members and clients.”

A panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, and Brandon Hall Group senior analysts and executives evaluated the entries based upon the following criteria:

  • Product: What was the product’s breakthrough innovation?
  • Unique differentiators: What makes the product unique and how does it differ from any competing products?
  • Value Proposition: What problem does the product solve and/or what need does this product address?
  • Measurable results: What are the benefits customers can expect to experience as a result of using this product?

“Paychex is honored to receive this recognition from Brandon Hall, one of the top industry research and analyst firms,” said Tom Hammond, vice president of corporate strategy and product management at Paychex. “We firmly believe that the breadth and depth of our products and services afford the small and mid-size markets the ability to compete with Fortune 500 companies when it comes to driving efficiencies, streamlining business processes, and recruiting, onboarding, managing, and ultimately retaining top talent. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to meeting the needs of businesses for the last 46 years and in the many years to come.”

“Paychex Flex is configured with user experience and modularity at the core of everything we do,” said Mike Gioja, Paychex senior vice president of IT and product development. “Leveraging mobile-first, single sign-on technology, the way in which we built Paychex Flex allows clients to easily turn components of the platform on and off as they grow their workforces, all while enjoying a clean, simple, and powerful user experience no matter what device they’re using at the time. We’re extremely proud of what we’ve built in Paychex Flex and are proud to receive this validation from Brandon Hall that we’ve hit the mark.”
