Vice President, SMB Solutions East Sales
With decades of experience in sales management, Steve McKenzie serves as the vice president of SMB Solutions Sales in the East for Paychex. In this role, he provides leadership and strategic direction to a sales organization that delivers solutions that help small and medium-sized businesses meet their human capital management needs. McKenzie believes that creating a great client experience is the key to business success, and that leaders can hone that experience by working for the betterment of the company, developing others’ skills, and building a culture that attracts and retains the best people.
In his time at Paychex, McKenzie has delivered consistent success in leadership positions across sales and service, overseeing key strategic initiatives including the rollout of the company’s national Rapid Response service program and the formation of an Accountant Relationship Management team. He also grew the business’ Phoenix regional service center from 80 employees to more than 600 in two years. Prior to joining Paychex, McKenzie served as vice president of DFC Global Corporation and, earlier in his career, as sales vice president at Aramark Uniform Services.
McKenzie is a graduate of Columbia Business School’s Leading Strategic Growth program and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
