    Paychex was among the first retirement providers in the industry to introduce a Pooled Employer Plan (PEP), which has been adopted by 34,000 employers with more than$1 billion in plan assets. The PEP helps expand plan access for businesses with reduced fiduciary liability, simplified plan management, and lower-cost plan expenses when compared to single-employer retirement plan offerings.

    We believe we have a responsibility to make an impact on the local communities in which we work, giving back both as a company and as individuals.

    Our employees honor this commitment to their local communities by organizing grassroots efforts, such as fundraisers, gathering donations for local charities, or volunteering their time.

    In addition to our employee efforts, at Paychex, we believe that support of United Way is one of the best ways we deliver local community impact. Since 2006, Paychex and our employees have contributed $18 million to United Way organizations.

    Charitable Foundation

    The Paychex Charitable Foundation was established in 2014 to provide support to initiatives that support economic development in communities where we have operations, while enhancing the quality of life for those who live and work in these communities. In addition, the foundation supports the significant charitable activities of Paychex employees. Employee teams that support a local nonprofit with fundraising and/or hands-on volunteering may request a foundation grant for that charity. Contributions from the foundation fall into one or more of the following focus areas.

    • Improving Economic Health of the Community and its Workforce
    • Corporate Citizenship

    Strategic Giving Framework Focused on Well-being

    As a national leader in HR, payroll, and benefits, Paychex has a unique insight into the challenges facing American businesses and workers. We use those insights to direct funding where we see the greatest need. One of the most profound challenges impacting businesses today is supporting the well-being of their employees.

    Beginning in FY23, the Paychex Charitable Foundation took a dramatic step forward to support well-being in the communities where our employees live and work. Through our strategic initiative focused on well-being, we announced $4 million in grants (paid over four years) to national organizations that are leaders in addressing mental health, physical health, financial health, and professional skills development: Mental Health America, Feeding America, Junior Achievement USA, and the National Urban League.

    The sustained funding commitment helps improve health and well-being in the communities where our employees live and work.

    Strategic Giving Partners

    Mental Health America is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to promotion of mental health, well-being, and prevention. The organization has over 130 affiliates nationwide, each working to integrate care, services, and support for those in need.

    Feeding America is the largest charity working to end hunger in the United States. Through its robust partnership network, the organization provided 5.3 billion meals to people experiencing hunger last year.

    With more than 100 local affiliates across the U.S., Junior Achievement reaches more than 4.6 million students per year with core program content focused on work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

    With more than 90 local affiliates across the U.S., the National Urban League serves 300 communities with direct services that improve the lives of more than 3.8 million people annually through program areas that include education and job training, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and more.
